Five healthcare myths debunked

Zócalo alum Shannon Brownlee’s op-ed yesterday in The Washington Post, written with oncologist and author Ezekiel Emanuel, skewers a handful of myths about healthcare. Former Senate Majority Leader and presumed Obama appointee Tom Daschle did something similar at a Zócalo lecture early in March, but Brownlee and Emanuel add a few new myths to that mix: the misconceptions that “somebody else is paying for your insurance,” that if private insurance costs were cut all would be well, and that Americans aren’t ready for major healthcare reform.
