She has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Physic Ventures, a consumer health and wellness investment fund, and president of the consulting firm Etude Scientific. Before moderating a panel on online healthcare at Zócalo, she took our In The Green Room Q&A.

Q. Where would we find you at 10 a.m. on a typical Saturday?

A. Sadly, at my computer checking email.

Q. What music have you listened to today?

A. A song my husband recorded that is playing online for a Sony ad right now.

Q. What do you consider to be the greatest simple pleasure?

A. Spending time with loved ones and watching a really great, stimulating movie.

Q. What surprises you most about your life right now?

A. I’m really overwhelmed and delighted by how the Health 2.0 community has grown. I started this conference series with my partner four years ago and today it has gone all over the world.

Q. Who was your childhood hero?

A. My grandmother.

Q. What do you wish you had the nerve to do?

A. Start a handbag company. There is no current bag for professional women where you can manage your laptop, so we’re always carrying five different bags.

Q. Who is your favorite fictional character?

A. So many of the characters I like in fiction are so flawed. I was really drawn to Anna Karenina – her spirit and her rebellion is something I admired.

Q. What is your favorite cocktail?

A. I’m a vodka tonic kind of girl.

Q. When do you feel the most creative?

A. The mornings. There’s a short window between 5 and 7 in the evening too. Not too late, and certainly not the middle of the afternoon.

Q. If you could take only one more journey, where would you go?

A. India.

Q. What is your most prized material possession?

A. Probably a little statue of Mary, even though I’m not religious, that my grandmother gave me before she passed away.

Q. Who is the one person living or dead you would most like to meet for dinner?

A. A toss up between Oprah Winfrey and Bono. And since they can be dead I have to throw in Mahatma Gandhi as well.
