Chocolate for Christmas

Journalist Angela Kocherga Takes Questions in the Green Room

Angela Kocherga is border bureau chief for Belo TV. Before participating on a panel of journalists discussing the challenges of “Telling Mexico’s Stories,” she took questions in our Green Room.

Q. What time do you wake up on the weekends?
A. 7.

Q. What would you eat for your last meal?
A. I have not thought of that. What do I love? I’d probably have something chocolatey.

Q. How are you different than you were 10 years ago?
A. A lot wiser, a lot sadder about Mexico.

Q. What is your favorite holiday and why?
A. Christmas, without a doubt. I just love the whole Christmas spirit, people are happy, I love the decorations, I love seeing smiles on the children. Christmas, 100 percent.

Q. What is the best part of your job?
A. Meeting people, just ordinary people who even in the midst of very difficult situations are heroic.

Q. What is something that very few people know about you?
A. That I like hiking, probably.

Q. What do you find beautiful?
A. Nature.

Q. What is your favorite type of weather?
A. Chilly, the changing of the seasons, whether it’s right at the beginning of fall or right at the beginning of spring.

Q. What do you do to relax?
A. Go walking with my dogs.

Q. What is the last thing that made you laugh really hard?
A. In that Green Room over there, we were joking about how one of the panelists is probably going to make someone nervous with their comments and get uninvited before we reach Phoenix.
