Journalist Reed Johnson Takes Questions in the Green Room

Reed Johnson is an arts and culture reporter and former Mexico correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. Before participating on a Zócalo panel of journalists discussing the challenges of “Telling Mexico’s Stories,” he took questions in our Green Room.

Q. How do you procrastinate?
A. I suppose surfing online.

Q. What do you do to exercise?
A. I run and lift weights and do aerobics.

Q. What is something that very few people know about you?
A. I don’t know, I’m pretty transparent.

Q. What is your cocktail of choice?
A. A mojito.

Q. What do you eat for breakfast?
A. Usually it’s either something really ridiculously spicy, like with chipotle sauce, or else just plain old yogurt.

Q. Who has had the greatest influence on your career?
A. My parents.

Q. What is your favorite type of weather?
A. The kind I can’t predict.

Q. If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
A. Someplace I haven’t lived yet.

Q. What would we find you doing at 8 pm on an average weeknight?
A. Just getting home from work.

Q. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
A. Learn from your mistakes.
