My Cat and My Cappuccino

Kathleen Ferris is executive director of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association. Before participating in a panel in Lake Havasu City on the future of the Colorado River, she talked fast food, showers, and seasons in the Zócalo green room.

Q:

What keeps you up at night?

A:

My son.

Q:

When and where did you last eat fast food?

A:

Today at Red Robin. I guess that’s fast food—I consider it fast food.

Q:

Are you good at keeping secrets? If so, who can vouch for you?

A:

Yes. Michael—my boyfriend.

Q:

Baths or showers?

A:

Showers, absolutely.

Q:

What are you keeping in your garage that you should have thrown out already?

A:

A broken green end table.

Q:

What relaxes you?

A:

A glass of white wine.

Q:

What’s your favorite season?

A:

It depends where you are. In Phoenix, my favorite season is early spring.

Q:

Where would we find you at 10 a.m. on a typical Saturday morning?

A:

Sitting on my sofa with my cat on my lap, and a cappuccino.

Q:

What teacher or professor changed your life, if any?

A:

My water law professor.

Q:

If you had one more hour in the day what would you do with it?

A:

Sleep.
