Rushmore

September 16

Rushmore is the Godfather of eccentric teenager films. Max Fischer, a poor student with a brilliant mind who is secretly on scholarship at the school, makes friends with Bill Murray’s rich industrialist. Then they both fall in love with Olivia Williams’ elementary school teacher, to a soundtrack full of ‘60s British Invasion tunes. The movie helped launch the career of director Wes Anderson—who would go on to make films like The Royal Tenenbaums and Grand Budapest Hotel.
