Great, joyful artists can emerge from the darkest places. This is the story of Billy Elliot. It’s about a talented young boy who unexpectedly finds a talent for ballet dance even as his family disintegrates under the pressure of the bitter coal miners’ strikes of mid-1980s England. The film was a surprise hit after its 2000 debut, spawning a Broadway musical and causing a sensation that has never quite ended.

Doors open at 7:30 PM. The screening will begin at sundown.
