I Don’t Have Family Here, but I Have God

Mario Bracamonte

I’m on my way to church. I listen to gospel music on the train and read the Bible.

I’m from El Salvador, but I’ve been in Los Angeles for 14 years. I left everything and everyone behind when I moved here.

I don’t have family in Los Angeles, but I have God and I have a good job that I like. I am a mechanic. I learned the trade back in El Salvador. I work on diesel semi-trucks. I like taking them apart and building them back again. I like working with big machines and big tools.
