L.A.’s Not as Shallow and Crazy as People Make It Out to Be

Jon Siren

I’m from Columbus Ohio, but I’ve lived in L.A. for half my life. L.A.’s got a bad rep with a lot of people, but once you’ve lived here for a few years, you can kind of create your own world within the city. It’s not as shallow and crazy as some people make it out to be.

People come up to me on the train to talk—I tend to get approached by preachers who want to give me Bible verses.

I’m a drummer, and I listen to music on my ride: heavy metal, industrial, electronic. It’s kind of all over the map.
