You Buy Abandoned Houses, Fix Them Up, and Sell Them

Stan Griffin

I’m headed home from Rancho Cucamonga, where I was working for the real estate investment company I own with my girlfriend. The price of housing in Los Angeles is driving people further east. The market is a little more secure in Yucaipa, San Bernardino, and Upland.

I like older cars and I have a few, including a ’61 GMC pickup and a ’71 F-100. But I don’t like sitting in traffic, and I like to read. So I take the bus. I can read about properties. Sometimes I even spot abandoned houses out the window. You can buy those cheap, fix them up, and sell them.
