Q:

What’s the last book you read?

A:

Move Up: Why Some Cultures Advance While Others Don’t by Clotaire Rapaille and Andrés Roemer. It’s about how culture can bring you up or bring you down. The book talks about Mexico.

Q:

What’s your drink of choice?

A:

Coffee.

Q:

Where would we find you at nine on a typical Friday night?

A:

At the movies. I love movies on Friday.

Q:

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

A:

It’s a phrase by an engineer from Israel. He told me once, “Everything is possible with the right mindset.” Never let anything stop you. Because every obstacle you perceive is in your mind.

Q:

What’s your guilty TV-watching pleasure?

A:

The Killing. On Netflix.

Q:

Suppose you had a day to live and could go any place in Mexico?

A:

I’d go to a beach of course. One of the wonderful Mexican beaches.

Q:

What was the last great party you attended?

A:

I was invited by the people of Azteca to La Ciudad de las Ideas in Puebla. They have this party with all the speakers. And I was having beers with the “tiger mom,” Amy Chua.

Q:

What person living or dead would you most want to meet?

A:

Could be Gandhi. Or could be Winston Churchill. Sure, yeah—Churchill. My second choice would be Pancho Villa.
