Emily Wong is a Los Angeles-based illustrator and concept artist. You can find her work in The New York Times, New York magazine, and in various titles published by Disney Publishing/Pixar and Penguin Random House. Over the past 10 years, I’ve watched her develop her drawings of human hair. Whether she chooses to show the heads and faces of the people who host that hair is almost coincidental. Energetically sculpted and meticulously rendered, the hair is the star. Hair is to Wong as paint strokes were to Lichtenstein.
