Journalist Alfredo Corchado Takes Questions in the Green Room

Alfredo Corchado is Mexico bureau chief for the Dallas Morning News. Before taking part in a Zócalo panel of journalists discussing the challenges of “Telling Mexico’s Stories,” he answered questions in our Green Room.

Q. What do you do to exercise?
A. Go to the gym.

Q. Do you prefer city or country living?
A. City. Mexico City.

Q. What is your most simple pleasure?
A. Movies.

Q. What is your favorite thing to drink?
A. Mango juice and tequila, afterwards.

Q. What would you change about yourself?
A. Have more hair.

Q. Where do you go to read?
A. My favorite place is a coffee shop in La Condesa, in Mexico City.

Q. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A. A journalist.

Q. What do you do to relax?
A. Movies.

Q. When do you feel the most creative?
A. When I’m listening to music.

Q. What is the best lesson your parents taught you?
A. To keep looking forward, moving ahead.
