Journalist Ana Maria Salazar Takes Questions in the Green Room

Ana Maria Salazar is the host of Imagen News. Before participating on a panel of journalists discussing the challenges of “Telling Mexico’s Stories,” she took questions in our Green Room.

Q. What would we find you doing at 10 am on an average Saturday morning?
A. Teaching – I teach a national security workshop – or sleeping in, depending on the weekend.

Q. What do you do to clear your mind?
A. Work.

Q. What do you do to exercise?
A. Martial arts, I’m a black belt in hapkido.

Q. If you could have a different profession in another life, what would you do?
A. I’d be Superwoman.

Q. What talent do you wish you had?
A. Organization.

Q. What is your guilty pleasure?
A. Watching mixed martial arts at 12 o’clock in the evening.

Q. If you had a million extra dollars, what would you do?
A. I would do exactly what I’m doing now. I would probably create 20 NGOs for each of my different activities.

Q. What piece of advice would you give to someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?
A. Don’t.

Q. What do you eat for breakfast?
A. Whatever is left from dinner.

Q. Who was your childhood role model?
A. Tarzan.
