Q. What’s the last habit you tried to kick?

A. It’s more the habit I’ve tried to make, which is to exercise more.

A. Eleanor Roosevelt.

Q. What do you consider to be the greatest simple pleasure?

A. Snuggling with my son.

Q. What surprises you most about your life right now?

A. How rich it feels.

Q. Where would we find you at 10 a.m. on a typical Saturday?

A. The Discovery Museum in Sausalito with my son.

A. I like to go for walks.

Q. What do you wish you had the nerve to do?

A. Learn Spanish.

Q. Who is your favorite fictional character?

A. She wasn’t fictional, but the way Michael Cunningham portrayed Virginia Woolf in The Hours.

A. Sidecar.

Q. What is your most prized material possession?

A. Photos of my family.
