every night, i pray for a sword sharp enough, and a soft heart

in a dream

my hunters are slain

in a dream

repenters meet exile

in a dream

their surrender

softens us all,

rare as it is

glistening with sweat and tears,

bodies sway, filling the empty left

our feet are heavy,

the only relief

is the stillness of love,

the bed of rest it offers,

and that it’ll all be over soon.
