I was born in San Pedro and raised in Compton. I’ve only been riding the train for a year, but since then I’ve started going to the Staples Center, to MacArthur Park, to Downtown Long Beach, all places I’d never been to before. I’ve gotten to know my city even though I’m a native.
I feel like L.A. is going to become more like New York City, because traffic is getting heavier and gas is getting more expensive at the same time that Metro is constructing all of these new lines. These rails will eventually pass by your house. So just give it a try. Believe me, you’ll have a good time.
