I’m an L.A. native, but I never had the opportunity to learn all of the streets and routes of this city when I was driving a car. I learned the city on the Metro, and I really appreciate that.
I usually wear my earphones and keep to my business when I ride. But earlier today, I found out that there was a young boy on the Expo Line who had just turned 2, so I sang “Happy Birthday” to him and gave him a dollar. It was beautiful.
I’ve lived a life where I’ve been courtside and at the Ritz-Carlton, but now is my chance to grow myself.
