When I go back home to West Africa, I bring sneakers for my family. They love corn flakes, so I take huge bags from Costco. I’ve been here for 30 years. This country provides great opportunity. Every day I wake up feeling very grateful. But I miss my family, especially my twin sister. Sometimes when I wake up and I’m feeling off, I call my sister and find out she is sick or having a bad day. We are connected in a very special way.
