Hill Street Santa Anita Avenue

I had Spaghetti and Meatballs for Breakfast

Joseph Parker

I used to talk to this old lady that I’d see on the bus every day. I always looked forward to talking to her. She gave me advice on life, but then I changed schedules. I don’t see her anymore.

I work from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. as an X-ray tech at an urgent care clinic. I’ve always had insomnia so working the night shift made sense. I’m used to having dinner for breakfast at 4 a.m. I had spaghetti and meatballs tonight.

The other day I was helping out a dude that almost ripped off his whole arm with barbed wire. It was gnarly. I don’t freak out when I see stuff like that—I actually look forward to learning from it.
