I took myself to lunch at Olvera Street today and visited the same stand I’ve been going to since I was a kid. I’m originally from L.A. I’m the original Laker girl—born on East 81st.
I’m looking forward to retiring so I can be a grandma. I have three biological grandkids and two from my son’s wife. I was thinking today how much my 5-year-old grandson would enjoy riding on the Red Line.
I try not to use my phone on the train. I try to look at people, to be available to people around me that I can help. I try to be present.
