John Lee Smith
I hadn’t been on a train in over 30 years. I just got out of incarceration, so I’d been away since 1982. I’m getting used to a lot of things, trying to break my shyness, my shell of myself. When I first started riding, it was very uncomfortable. I wasn’t used to being around crowds of people. I really had to adjust, day by day. Seeing all the people on the train who are trying to do something with their lives is just inspiring.
