I’m on my way to work. I’m a messenger in downtown L.A. I usually bike 100 miles a day, so taking Metro feels like a splurge. If I work in the morning, I deliver legal work. In the evenings, I deliver food from restaurants. I carry anything and everything that fits in my backpack. The other day, I carried $600 worth of food in my backpack from a restaurant in Venice. I biked the food 24 blocks uphill—it was pretty wild. But they tipped me $70 … not too bad.
