I plan date nights with my husband when I’m on the bus. I figure out what to cook for dinner or find a new Thai restaurant. I never had Thai food before I moved to L.A. I love it.
I’ve lived in Los Angeles for almost a year, but I’m moving back to Guatemala in December to be with my kids and parents again.
I haven’t found any white tamales in L.A. They’re my favorite, made with all corn masa, no fillings. They are tender, simple, and plain. There is something so good about their simplicity. I’ve been cooking since I was a little girl.
