There’s Nothing like the Place Where you were Born

Edwin DaSilva

I’m on my way to visit my girlfriend and her family. I met her at church, she’s in the choir and I’m the piano player. She is beautiful, gorgeous, and just a really nice person. I’m planning a nice dinner for our one-year anniversary. I have friends who work at the Queen Mary so maybe I’ll take her there.

I love L.A., but there’s nothing like the place where you were born. I miss everything about El Salvador. I miss my family. I miss the food—there’s no way they can imitate it here. I hope I can establish myself here and build a home in El Salvador where I can go for vacation twice a year.
