Lamont “Artist” Woods
I’ve been drawing at Hollywood and Highland for 43 years now. I meet people on the bus or train, and then I draw them. Once, I met a cheerleader from Ohio State University. All she does is tumble. We met, I drew her, then I found out that her grandmother is the president of the NAACP.
When I’m riding, I’m thinking about art, always. “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver” is a passage out of the Bible, Proverbs 25:11, that I’ve been trying to paint for many years now. I keep searching for the answer of how to draw that picture.
